Default Salisbury - a good deal?

Hi all -

Was hoping to get some info on the Salisbury (East Meadow schools) area of Westbury. Seems like a nice neighborhood with relatively decent home prices - ? All of the real estate listings talk this area up as a "desirable" section of Westbury...is there more than meets the eye here? Has the community been changing recently? Or is Salisbury a pretty good deal if you want a central location, good schools and nice quiet, safe neighborhood?

any info/opinions are appreciated.

thanks!

I have friends who moved there 4 years ago b/c they thought it was a "good deal".

The schools are good and the community is not bad at all. But.....

yes it has been changing.

The very family I just told you about has had their house on teh market for 1 year b/c their neighbor moved and sold the house to people who like to have MANY people live with them. Too many. So they are moving as soon as they sell their house.

I know for a fact there are a LOT of illegal apts there, which is a cause for concern since that is how areas get overcrowded or houses become rented out to too many people.

Also, I have another friend whose parents live there (about 15 years). Their neighbors are another family who has MANY people coming and going, the young children throw garbage on their lawn, etc, and since most of those people do not speak english, they have a hard time communicating with them and so the children's behavior never stops.

I would say, go to Levittown instead. Salisbury is changing A LOT since I peeked there 4 years ago when my friend moved there. Drive around alot and you will see.

If you want more info, send me a PM.

Sorry, never heard of it.

Looks like S. Westbuy/E Meadow schools.

We have a few quasi imaginary towns on LI like Islandia(CI), North Coram (Coram),San Remo(Kings Park) or my favorite...Tangiers (Mastic)

Ant town emabarrassed of their namesake... I'd stay away of.

Best
