Of course there is more of a risk from flooding the closer you get to the water.

There could be an earthquake too, which could potentially make any area a danger zone.

Yeah, a tsunami on LI would only impact the water FRONT houses.

Why exactly does this thread exist?

i doubt where i live in elmont would be affected that much.

How often do you see people use "waterfront property" as a sales pitch?

A thin flat island sitting parallel to the ocean vs. a towering onslaught of giant waves... yeah, that's logical. Elmont wouldn't even notice.
