hey guys

I am new to this forum and I am just looking for some input.
Long Story short, I've been living in this place (me and my 5 year old son) for over 2 years and the neighbors (young couple) moved in shortly after me. They constantly have people over (I believe they deal drugs - what kinda stuff I don't want to assume, but def pot) and they smoke every day.
The building is old, and is poorly insulated, not just the windows and doors, but also the walls. I.e. it is a one bedroom apartment, my son sleeps in the bedroom, but the walls are literally not connected to the ceiling on one side, so when they go and start smoking the whole bedroom just stinks - same goes for the living room, since the smoke is coming from the hallway.
I am sitting here and I am so sick of it. I've mentioned it to them several times that I don't want that around my 5 year old.
I do not smoke weed or do any kind of drugs and nor do I associate with anybody that does.
I literally get sick just from smelling it (headaches, and I get nausea) and even my 5 year old now started complaining about headaches very frequently.
I must say that my boy is also a little copy cat - and it could very well be that he is just copying off of me when I sit here and say I got a headache. But he came now several times saying his head is hurting, and I don't want to take this lightly.
I'd rather sit there later thinking that "this little stinker fooled me" instead of OMG, why didn't I check up on it.
I've contacted the landlord but he absolutely does not care what people do in his building, he just wants his rent getting paid.

what do I do to put a stop this? coming home and in the stairway it stinks that you have to cover your nose, you enter your own apartment and in the evening hours it smells like I am having a pot party - what do I do?

Thanks for any input.

Neamae

With this kind of constant use and a suspicion of dealing, call the cops.

Instead of calling cops stop into your precinct with your son and explain situation to desk officer.

You need to move. Its obviously not a good environment to be raising a young child.

Moving is probably the best option.

This.

Don't invite the "man" into your life.

Move.
You don't know what kind of people they're bringing into the building and you could get robbed or worse. Not worth it.

I would probably move, especially if they aren't sharing any with you!

You would really think that constant contact high would have mellowed you out a bit...j/k

Is this even a legal apartment building?
