He is on this site asking for people's opinion. If you think that Bayshore, including that part, is on the rise then you have to get your head examined. What if this guy decides in a year or even three that he needs to sell??? He has less of a chance of getting out ahead or even breaking even. There are PLENTY of other homes on MLS in much better areas of LI. And if he didn't want to hear people's opinion then this is not the site for him. Regards- DawnSMELLS

Two former coworkers lived in that area and were happy; their children attended Bay Shore schools and they had no complaints. Mind you this was 20 years ago.
Re-posting as it appears that the map of the Bay Shore Union Free School District has disappeared from my original post:
Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Bay Shore Union Free School District includes all or part of the Hamlet of North Bay Shore, the Hamlet of Islip, the Hamlet of Bay Shore, the Village of Brightwaters, the Hamlet of West Bay Shore and the Hamlet of West Islip
A map of the Bay Shore Union Free School District:
If you are not happy with the neighborhoods in Bay Shore you are checking out, try the Manor La area south of Union, north of Montauk Hwy. I know two families who have lived there > 20 years, no problems. Homes are well kept, lots of property and wide streets. One bad thing -taxes are pretty high.

A map of the Hamlet of Bay Shore in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County:
The Hamlet of Bay Shore has a different border than does the "Bay Shore, NY 11706" ZIP Code postal zone (i.e., a place can have a "Bay Shore, NY 11706" mailing address and not be in the Hamlet of Bay Shore): places that have a "Bay Shore, NY 11706" mailing address that are not in the Hamlet of Bay Shore are in the Village of Brightwaters, the Hamlet of North Bay Shore, the Hamlet of West Bay Shore, the Hamlet of Baywood, the Hamlet of Islip, the Village of Saltaire and the Hamlet of Fire Island.
