Kids are still pretty right sized and I think thats key in JH.

Keep in mind even most of the have nots in 3v today have some.
Which could probably be said for most of LI if you own a home here.

We're Gelinas zoned and we saw a few beauts -- won't deny, but amazingly enough, some of the wealthiest families I personally know are the most regular. They are also from the midwest and northwest, which might make a difference, too.

My oldest (WMHS10) has a mix of friends; most of whom are Murphyites. The alphabet section RCMs were the most normal. Those from the developments off Pond, the 3V Club, and those monstrosities just south of 347 off Mark Tree -- oy.

Hmmm. Well Im glad they didnt.

Anyway, the fabled Fittycent Rocky Point house turned out to be a SUSB Cardiologists Mediterranean Terracotta Estate in Oak Hills(Westchester dr). I heard the kids over the line from Sound Beach were slipping in and stealing bricks to put on Ebay.

The amazing thing was he tore down a beautiful 4500sf center hall Colonial on an Acre to build it.This thing makes the Snider house look like a cheap McMansion. It is pretty magnificent but I hate the brick.Someone from 50Cent's posse recently bought in Miller Place and that fueled the speculation.

Anyway, lets hope the Jersey Shore stays in Nassau where it belongs.

You are the person I need to talk to (beehave and crook)!! I was just in 3V last weekend looking at houses. I have a 2 & 6 year old. I am liking what I am reading on your posts. Any help would be great!! I'm looking for a family neighborhood. I like the one across from Setauket elementary... view rd? I'd like to stay North of 25a... far from 347. I've been south for 10 years and most if the island has def changed! But the schools are still great and that's why I'm coming back. The 3V area still seems nice. I hear that all of the 3V elementary schools have an enrichment program. Thanks for your help!

Caroline Avenue? Just make the next right & you'll find yourself on the way to Strongs Neck.

How may I help you?

Each school has a Pi program which was at the 6th grade level; the IG program is based at Mount, and all 3V students who qualify (regardless of their home school) are based out of Mount.

View Rd is immediately across from Setauket School, number of families in there. Hills Dr is just south of 25A but kids go to Setauket and it is great family neighborhood. If you look up off of Mount Grey Rd there are some neighborhoods which have private beaches.

What is your price range? What are you looking for or wish to avoid? I'm in Stony Brook (N25A), have lived here 17 years and have children who have had friends all over the district.

The price range is 500-650K. I don't need new and/or fancy, just a nice neighborhood. I'm flexible... I like the cute old homes as well as the 60's colonials on View. I am concerned about the college students renting in areas. I know that Christian is a hotspot for that. What other areas do I avoid? I'm SBU alumni and love the school, but my party days are over. I grew up in Miller Place (in Florida now) and I played outside all day. I know those days are over, but I'd like to give my kids something close to that, as well as a good education.
My daughter has ADHD (not medicated) and is gifted. So, she is hyper AND bored. I've heard great things about 3V, but would love some feedback from other parents. I'm waiting to hear back from Dr Rullan at 3V.
The 3V area was nicer than I remembered it and would really like to live there if possible. I've got my work cut out! Thanks for your help!!

Come to the alphabet sections and save yourself $100-$200k. We love it here. Great down to earth community.

Full disclosure time -- you're in the S section which is the nicest of the alphabet sections. I wouldn't send them over to O or M.
