Clamboy:

You are moving to Connecticut which is served by Nuclear Reactors Millstone 2 and 3 just 30 miles south of you. Also, Indian Point 2 and 3 are not that far west from where you are either. To the east is Pilgrim 1 in Plymouth and to the north there are reactors in Battleboro, Vermont and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. You will be surrounded by nuclear power - beautiful. I'm jealous because I wish LI had one. While you enjoy cheap, clean and SAFE electricity I will be getting ripped off by LIPA.

Doesn't anyone else see why the south has such lower utility costs? Think about it - they run their Central Air Conditioning almost all year and yet they pay far less for electricity. WHY? All those places that Long Islanders are moving to have the benefit of NUCLEAR POWER. Where are those places that have nuclear power plants within 30 miles: Charlotte, NC; Wilmington, NC; Richmond, VA; Raleigh, NC; Rock Hill, SC; Pt. St. Lucie, FL; Norfolk, VA; Wilmington, DE; and Toms River (Jersey Shore), NJ - these are just some of the nuclear power plant sites on the eastern seaboard. I just wish Shoreham, NY was on the list.

Which is more risky: The cost of using Nuclear Power or the cost of not using Nuclear Power?

Sorry Nbres

Two words
Exit strategy.

Not without a bridge....and never, ever in Shoreham.
Its too dense now.
Wm Floyd is now the Middle of the Island.

Besides...my LIPA bill is the least of my problems.

Clamboy, I did say earlier that we needed those bridges in conjunction with the nuclear power.

Doesn't matter anyway. Long Island is like a limb on a tree that is slowly being eaten away by a fungus. The end of the suburban dream is near. The era of suburban decay is here.
