Borderline illegal? Clearly an enshrined right in the 2nd Amendment. Read the recent Supreme Court DC v Heller case. If a piece of trash breaks into your house and is lurking around in the dark, you have every right to blow him away and send him to kingdom come.

I do own guns. I never said it was ILLEGAL I meant it as it is pretty much impossible to get a handgun in this area (downstate NY).
