Default bakery in wantagh/bellmore

check out slap-happy baking company on wantagh avenue (in the same shopping center in hemingways) - it's fairly new and amazing! great retro vibe and home-made desserts.....

Default more helpful hints

Restaurant: House of Spain in Merrick on Merrick Road
Violettas (Italian- classic red sauce type place) on Sunrise Highway in Merrick
** Check out Zagats for seafood places in Freeport south of Merrick road
Bagels: bagel plaza or bagel boss, both on merrick road in merrick. both have top-notch bagels, as well as very fresh appetizing (smoked and pickled fish)
Auto repair: Joseph's on Merrick Road in Seaford- will perform repairs 24/7, and deliver your car back to you when work is complete. Joseph is a Hungarian immigrant (has been in the USA for at least 30 years), and his shop is largely staffed by hard working Hungarians that he personally brings over from Europe.

Growing up is on a distinguished road
Best Pasta on the Island is Piccolos on Sunrise Hwy in bellmore, and Friday nights (as long as the weather is nice) is a huge car show across the street at the train station. we have everyting but fastfood, which is just a town away any way you go. Newbridge road park has something for every season, including an ice rink. John Moore's deli on Merrick road is one of the best. Everything is pretty convient, malls 10-15 mins away, plenty of grocery shopping, drug stores and gas stations.

Bellmore is nice overall, but there have been a lot of problems in the recent years- football scandal, the riggio brothers- lots of crazy kids in the town, but other than that it's nice enough. Schools are good. Bellmore Bagel cafe has awesome bagels.

Default For those who may not be familiar with North Bellmore

For those who may not be familiar with North Bellmore:

Previously known as Smithville South, North Bellmore is a hamlet (unincorporated area) in the east-center section of the Town of Hempstead.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Hamlet of North Bellmore in the Town of Hempstead is bordered on the north by the Hamlet of East Meadow; on the east by the Hamlets of North Wantagh and Wantagh; on the south by the Hamlet of Bellmore; and, on the west by the Hamlet of North Merrick.

North Bellmore is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the hamlet name in their mailing address: places in the Hamlet of North Bellmore have a "Bellmore, NY 11710", a "Wantagh, NY 11793" or a "Merrick, NY 11566" mailing address.

For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County):

Default Best Bakery in Nassau - Slap-Happy

Slap-Happy Bakery in Wantagh is fantastic! Best Bakery in Nassau - maybe even on Long Island! I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday and everyone (especially the adults) enjoyed the fresh, delicious and beautiful cake. My son wants cupcakes for his birthday this spring and he really wants the blue Slap-Happy cupcakes (which are delicious, too!). If you live in Bellmore, Wantagh, Seaford and even Massapequa: Slap-Happy should be your local bakery. We haven't had a really good bakery in Wantagh for years and I want to make sure Slap-Happy is successful!!
