While their baked goods are pretty good, there are plenty of other local bakeries around that are just as good where the owners are a lot more appreciative of your business.Moderator cut: sorry. no personal attacks
Take your business elsewhere.

Check out Newbridge Park in South Bellmore, there's a community pool, tennis and basketball courts. Also, in South Merrick there is a great place called "Pastrami King", it was voted the best sandwhiches on Long Island, the place is famous for it's pastrami sandwhiches on rye or club bread, the prices are expensive but the sandwhich is defintely worth it.

Luigi's Pizza is very good. It is at the corner of Newbridge and Camp (right by Mepham High School). There are a few nice eateries, but you will find no fast food. There is a town ban on fast food places. I believe the only one you may find is a Subway on Jerusalem. I teach in Bellmore and many of my students need to drive to Wantagh for fast food. There is a great Deli/Italian eatery called MY HERO. . Good luck!

north bellmore
I agree Ivarrone Bros. is very good. Great take out prepared food......a little pricey, but worth it. Pizza....... Piccolo Pizza in Bellmore, Bagels......Town Bagel in Bellmore or Wantagh (town next door), deli sandwiches......My Hero on Jerusalem Avenue in North Bellmore.
North Bellmore is a very nice town with mixed religions. Schools are terrific and it is in close proximity to major highways. You can usually walk to lots of things (post office, CVS, Dairy Barn). South Bellmore can be quite a walk to anything and tends to be snobby. You have to "keep up with the Joneses" if you know what I mean. Of course, you'll find some really nice people in South Bellmore, but that's the exception. What's interesting is that there actually is not a South Bellmore. The post office has no designation for South Bellmore.....only North Bellmore. So the people in South Bellmore are really from just plain ole "Bellmore". They just like to say "South Bellmore" to add that snob appeal. Not for me.

You could probably write "South Bellmore, NY 11710" on an envelope and it would still get there, but you've got the right idea: Bellmore and North Bellmore are two distinct towns (hamlets, really) while South Bellmore is just what people call the neighborhoods south of Merrick Road.
The old fishing cottages and smaller homes on canals off Bellmore Avenue are very working class, not snobby at all...but the rest I would tend to agree with your assessment, unfortunately! My Hero is great, never even heard of Piccolo Pizza though. Where the heck is that??

Piccolo Pizza is on Sunrise Highway, corner of Bellmore Avenue in the King Kullen shopping center. Surprised you never heard of it. You're right about the smaller homes on the canals, but most of those south of there are huge homes with huge egos
