BTW, I think Obama is an empty suit.
Part of my Irish side as well.

In 1970 my mother was discriminated against in Levittown by a neighbor who would call her derogatory Hispanic slurs. This same person deliberately prevented my sibling and I from playing in her yard when the neighborhood kids were there. One thing I have to say, my parents never slammed the bigot neighbor in front of us children. Instead of perpetuating this person's hatred and intolerance, they taught us how to look past it in order to move forward.

I agree with you on Obama. He needs to show us there's more to him, and he just isn't doing it. All I hear are words without action.

Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way and the leader of the greatest country in the world can't lead by "hope".
You mean I can't sit here all night writing posts and 'hope' my arse doesn't get any bigger?

A government that spends its time encouraging people to focus on the good is accurately described as engaging in propaganda.

So, to avoid these attacks, Obama is simply spinning his arguments about problems and solutions as being about hope in order to oppose the tired "pessimism" rhetoric of the Republicans.

Should I have prefaced my post with:
Warning! Contains Humor!

Isn't spinning an argument the same as engaging in propoganda to some extent?

Either way, there are problems: sunnyside up or sunnyside down.

As far as interracial couples are concerned, yes, Long Island has come a way ---- not a long way, but they have progressed somewhat.

I would hope that an interracial couple could live their lives in a nice area and raise a family without being called names, without their children being called names, and being made to feel welcomed to the community.

I hope the original poster will find that without having to resort to living in a predominantly "white" or predominantly "black" area (which wouldn't be fair to either of them).
