Every landscaper we used only mowed. Maybe you should hire the lawn service to do everything but mow (which IMO is a waste of money - especially in the summer when the grass hardly grows at all).

Wow you people are amazing. I hope the people making these comments are pure blood Indians because if not they should be rounded up by ICE and deported to the countries of the grandparents. There is a majority minority in every generation. It was once the westindians, the Italian, the Iris, and some that I miss. My point is last time I checked we are all immigrants here.

No I think it still works. I am starting to wonder when did this place become a way to air your gripes about the world when someone is just asking a simple question.
I have an idea. How about answering the question

I have a similar question as the OP. i decided to take on the lawn maintenance aspect of my yard (i.e. mowing, trimming, fertilizing, etc). But my backyard is a mess right now. I have several bushes that i want removed and other clean up i want done. Can someone recommend a good landscaper that services the Massapequa area? Thanks

Lime will help. Otherwise I'm in the same boat. I need to find something pellet based that kills live crabgrass not just the pre-emergent stuff.
