Just a question. Should you get your sprinklers serviced yearly? I turned on the sprinklers and everything looked fine... what are they looking for here when they do it... Any insight as I am a new homeowner....

If you feel like you can replace heads (fairly easy to do) then I would keep doing what you are doing. I have a guy that I can call if something bigger happens. You will also need someone to blow out the lines at the end of the summer - unless you have a compressor and can do it yourself.

Yea, I get the lines blown out which is fine. But my sprinkler guy is telling me that they readjust the heads, replace some caps etc.. and clean the heads for $11 a zone... Its additional if they need to fix something.
I would get it serviced. If you don't blow the water out completely before winter, you will burst your entire system. My neighbor was cheap and did that with his. It cost way more than a service contract to fix his system. I get it serviced by the company that installed mine, so everything is under warranty.

I am interested what you pay for that? How big/how many zones? Thanks.

I get it blown out in the fall....
It was the service yesterday.. clamps or caps and adjustment and cleaning the nozzles... I did it anyway, but I dont think I will do it again.
we service our own sprinklers,we blow them out completely with a compressor at the end of october and get them ready for winter. You don't need to hire someone to do that. We replaced one head and we have a key to adjust the heads. Anything bigger than that I have someone I can call.
