That's what we had with LILCO and we were the highest rates in the country. (At least now there are a few with higher rates than us ... hallelujah ... but probably countable on 1 hand.)

How about we get rid of the patronage hacks and get qualified people?

It's really ridiculous. Do you sometimes think you should have just been a political hanger-on in life for an easy 6 figure salary in a position handed to you on a silver platter you aren't qualified for? Sometimes I wonder why knock myself out in the private sector. (Then I remember I am not a good brown noser and speak my opinion too freely.)

The problem with lipa is not the employees. Lipa Really needs to take back its employees. enough with this line repairmen contracted fron national grid crud. Lipa cannot control its expenses that way .

National Grid is the problem. Lipa Needs to take the repairmen uner them.

Also keep in mind The shoreham nuclear power plant getting shutdown also is why we have such high prices.

I don't think anyone is blaming the general employees. It's the top brass. That took some nerve to say "Maybe we will go private!" when the governor wants some oversight.

I am not surprised at National Grid being a problem. They are hated by their customers overseas as well.

I was speaking to things like hiring Dennis Dillons daughter for $150K as an HR director when her prior experience was a barmaid, also the Nassau County legislator as a LIPA Community liason, etc.

Legislation has been introduced in the NYS Senate for NYPA to acquire LIPA and operate it as a subsidiary. However, this whole NYPA/LIPA thing is nothing new, so I wouldn't hold my breath unless/until things moved forward a bit.

Full disclosure: I am a NYPA employee.
