Massapequa Park is Wonderful
I have lived in Massapequa Park for 20 years. If there is anyone interested in buying a house on Long Island, this is the best time to buy here. The Village of Massapequa Park has a great downtown area. In fact, we have a new restaurant, Inside the Park Cafe, and a new Foot Massage salon on Front Street just opposite the LIRR. So if your tootsies are sore after work in Manhattan, you can have a nice massage. Then step right next door for a nice gift for the wife from Edible Arrangements. Every winter we have a tree lighting. Every summer there is a wonderful street fair with loads of arts and crafts and other merchants.. a wondeful time for all.
If you're a drinking guy..you have your choice of 7 bars, including a new one called RossCommons which serves lunch and dinner. Good gin mill bars for those that need nothing fancy too.
It's great living in Massapequa Park. We do miss not having an auto parts store but we can deal with that.
Of course, you are in the Massapequa School District...one of the very best on Long Island to teach your genius sons and daughters. Im not sure about Massapequa High Schools after school activities so they might not have championship caliber cheerleader team but they do have a good extra-curricular program.
We are also very happy that an Uncle Guiseppes is coming into Massapequa right near All American Burger. What more do you want...good Italian food after you eat a great burger. Of course, it is not in Mass Park proper..but what is a short trip in your car for great burgers and a fine supermarket
Please also keep in mind that crime is very low here. Yes, we have had our isolated incidents but who has not. We don't have wild crazy night clubs distrubing the neighborhood with gunshots. We still have plenty of fine entertainment and things to do.
Please think about moving here. Lots of fine houses for sale at very reduced prices.
It's a great place to live.

One more thing. Those that need to use the LIRR. Mass Park has its own parking lot for commuters at $50 per year. You never have to worry about getting a spot within two blocks of the LIRR. Its not like you have to drive to far away stations like Ronkonkoma or Huntington..the station is within a couple of miles for everyone.
So many amenities here. Everyone should think about buying a house now in the Village of Massapequa Park.

Sorry to hear that but if you are disappointed after watching Mass HS sports you can drive all of one block and sate yourself at Don Juans Mexican Rest, La Bottera, Il Classico or perhaps, everyones favorite BBQ joint, Smokin Als. There are plenty of places to eat here..we aren't a one shot pony like lots of Long Island hamlets (Walter, thanks for teaching me that term)

I have not heard any issues at any restaurant in Mass Park. Everyone enjoys the fine dining and entertainment in this area.

I would like to make one more comment about Mass Park. We have sewers and sidewalks. If anyone is concerned that they might buy a house here with a septic system and would incur additional cost because its decades old..that is not going to happen. We are connected to sewers and storm drains.
In addition, all areas have sidewalks. You will have to clean them off if it snows. The Village of Mass Park has a list of regulations and, if you are thinking of buying a house here (and the time is right for that, best value on the south shore right now), you wil have to abide by the villages rules. It's a small price to pay.

Thanks Gpsmas
Although we have our challenges, like lack of championship cheer squad , no club o2 (yet), and no auto parts store, we truly do s till love it here.
I hear rapper waka flaka flame will be performing at Village Hall this weekend -ladies enter free be4 midnight ; ) , village residents get half off cover charge. You cant beat that.
It's not easy living in queens east-apequa or near the rotting fish head, but nevertheless the community has persevered .
Peqs
ps; we still love it here.
