True, but that "Hamlet of West Amityville" (prior to 1990) still had a "Massapequa" mailing address and a 11758 zip code. That shift occurred in the mid 70s. That's been covered extensively on this forum and there is no need to revisit.

I have been punched in the face and have lost all my friends thanks to italian opinions! The nicest people I've ever met in my life were AA's and sadly there is a grand total of 1 AA that I know, and maybe 10 total in massapequa itself. Not a lot of Jewish people either, but a fair amount of germans and Spanish (as in Europe). But that non-Italian population is 10%, and that isn't diversity. And I've also read that they have a higher poor population. I can't stand how rich snobbish Italian pequans are!!!
90%?? where are you pulling these numbers from?
Not that I'm a census taker, but I'd guess around me is probably 30% Italian, 30% Irish, 15% German, 5% Jewish, 5% Polish, 5% Russian, 5% Greek, 2% Asian, 2% Hispanic, rest is mixed.

Plenty of diversity... in fact, more diversity than so called "diverse" towns on LI.

By diverse I mean AA's, Lations, whites all in the same area.
Ur from the park, which im very sure has more irish than plain pequa does.
But anyways its not that there are too many Italians and Non-ginger Irish. The nicest and most racially accepting people ive ever met in my life have been AA's and id love to be in community with more of them. i know by looking at the census that lindy is 20% AA...yeah!

I've always considered a place diverse if there was a diversity of religious, ethnic and political/economic view points, regardless of skin color.

Well, we have a different definition of diversity than your antiquated, distorted opinion. If you don't like people with white skin color, simply move...and bring your fake 90% stats with you on the way out.

The park is not that much different than Massapequa proper.
I see though, so Latinos, AA's and "whites" all have to be in the same area for your approval. So it's all about skin color. What about Jamaicans and dark Puerto Ricans, both which have black skin color, do they get to live in your diverse utopia? Is there a difference between those coming to the US from caribbean islands vs AA's ?? Is there a difference between the white population or is white a nationality/race/ethnicity all lumped into one?

Who says those don't cout as AA's?

1. They are of African descent (the jaimacans, maybe not the puertoricans)

2. The caribbean is America (as in the continent, not necessarily the country )

There are different nationalities of whites. I just can't stand Italians in big #'s. Germans, Russians, Jewish and British are perfectly fine. Italians are fine as long they aren't 80% of the pop (im lowering it, ya happy?)I don't understand what so bad about diversity...
