I haven't seen much of gangs even though I live near a pretty bad town with a mall where they hang out.

You wonder if some day you are going to wander some where and have on the wrong color (these things happen in gang areas a lot) and wind up hurt or shot.

However, there are nuts and perverts everywhere--even in your sweet little country towns that show a facade of 'friendliness.' You can't escape it by moving, but you can escape some of the other nonsense, at least for awhile, that plagues us here.
