LI property taxes & what town are you in?
For those who dont mind me asking. What do you pay yearly for your property taxes and where on LI are you? Also what size house?
We are considering a move back to NY after being away for 11 years now.
We are in Vegas, safe neighborhood, we pay $2100 a year on a home built in 1999 its a 2100 square FT home, 4 beds 2 baths 3 car garage.

1800 sq feet, 10,000$ but we are in the Malverne School district which is not one of the preferred ones.

I was paying over $3,000 TEN years ago in Brookhaven..I doubt you will find anything her on LI for less than $6,000 in taxes...  (apart from a condo or something.) |

Ridge, town of brookhaven, Longwood schools. ours just went to 8,000 for a 5bedroom 3 full bath on a 1/4 acre. we are greiving them & our star will kick in 2008. When all of that happens we should be paying under 5k based on what my neighbors pay.

Westbury Village ...$11,700 this year b/c I didn't file for STAR  ...It should be about $10,400 (inc. village tax) on just shy of a 1/4 acre. |

Garden City, 72x125, 2000 sq ft ranch, $10,500.
Now, in LV, what other taxes are there? Other high costs? Just curious is you are really saving all that cash or if they get you with other taxes, etc.
