DA: Cop groped woman he'd pulled over

Quote:
A Nassau County police officer was arrested Wednesday on charges he coerced a woman into touching him sexually during a traffic stop in February, authorities said.

Garrett Mannerz, 34, of East Patchogue, was arrested by Nassau County's Internal Affairs Unit and charged with bribe receiving in the third degree, official misconduct, coercion in the second degree and sexual abuse in the third degree. A police spokesman said Mannerz has been suspended without pay.
Mannerz was arraigned Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead. Judge Angelo A. Delligatti released him without bail. He faces up to 7 years in prison if convicted. His next court appearance is June 29.
William Petrillo, of Rockville Centre, Mannerz's attorney, said in a prepared statement: "The absurdity of this false claim will become crystal clear as the case unfolds against this well-respected officer and family man."
On Feb. 27, Mannerz, an officer in the Third Precinct, stopped a vehicle near Hempstead Turnpike and Newbridge Road in East Meadow, according to a news release from the office of Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice.

"Inside the car were three women in their early 20s. After performing field sobriety tests on the driver, Mannerz ordered one of the passengers out of the car, commented on her attire, and asked for her telephone number," the release said.
"Mannerz then told the woman to walk over to his patrol car, where he told her that if she 'did something for him,' then he would allow the driver to leave the location without receiving a summons or being charged criminally," the release said.

"Mannerz then grabbed the woman's wrist and made her touch him sexually. He also arranged to call her to set up a date. Mannerz let the three women drive away," the release said. "Within two hours, Mannerz began a series of sexually suggestive telephone calls to the passenger he had grabbed."
The release said that Mannerz, a police officer since 2005, "was arrested after the victim recorded one of the phone calls and brought it to police."
Petrillo said his client has a clean record. Before the current charges he's "never had any disciplinary action taken against him for anything," he said.
Petrillo also said the time between the accusation and the arrest mean "warning bells should go off when this supposedly took place in February and five months later he's told to answer charges."
Rice called the actions of the officer "a shocking case of a policeman abusing his power" in a statement.
The news release asks anyone who has had a similar experience to contact the DA's Public Corruption Bureau at 516-571-2100.
Well, well, well what have we here. Yet another act of wrongdoing by a Nassau County Police officer

Did they stop doing psych exams to prospective NCPD officers or something? What gives?

A "Weiner" on a roll anyone?

I dunno. Here's a theory I'll throw out at ya:

"Men are much more likely to be ruled by their hormones than women!"

You gotta say when it comes to doing stupid things to the point of ruining their own lives because their sex hormones are running rampant, men are the champs. I'll take crabbiness at that time of the month anytime compared to being ruled by my hormones to the extent some men are!

I thought about that and here's the thing, the accuser was in the car with 2 other women which means that they also saw something occur. It's not like the city case where there were alot of holes in the woman's story about her supposedly being raped.

I know it sounds outrageous and the accusations provoke skepticism, but if the story is correct, they have proof:

If you mean the hormone insulin, maybe he was just not thinking clearly due to a hypoglycemic reaction. I think it's more a lack of grey matter though. For the money they're paid, grey matter should be abundant.

Sometimes the hormones interfere with the grey matter ... and they end up thinking with the wrong head.
