Ive long suspected that the fix is in on this one, but when I started hearing about large hotel plans for the Wm Floyd and Levyville I knew the gig was up.

SWR has no way to fund its near bankrupt schools other than its residential base.Tie in the tax enraged, Casino friendly Senior voting block living in Leisure Glen and you have the perfect storm.

I guess this fisting is a thank you from the LIPA ratepayers who funded their schools while they spent like a drunken sailor(even in the wake of the now DOA Tallgrass project).

Well let the charade of democracy, maudlin Civic uprisings and political posturing begin.Trust me I smell a rat. There's a casino coming to the Shoreham plant complete with paper roads, ferry to CT n all.

What a shame. This is bad news for Brookhaven and an over correction for SWR.

Brookhaven Airport, Shoreham site eyed for casino

It's not a done deal, but man, that would be interesting. I mean, that plant is sort of in the middle of nowhere. I can't imagine how people would get there?

NO, NO, NO. I hope this NEVER happens. No Casinos on LI, period. The surrounding areas will just be filled with crime and drunks.

A casino may be coming; but, if it does, it'll be in East Shoreham, the hamlet, and not in Shoreham, the village.

With the Shinnecocks gaining Federal recognition, there will be a casino on LI sooner or later, as they have long expressed a desire to open one.

The casino will never be built in the Shoreham area. The residents will never allow it. I think it would happen in Yaphank, Calverton, or Shirley before Shoreham.

I think thats incredibly naive if you consider how large and motivated the voting block is in the Leisure Communities can be.

The Schools are really struggling and the Seniors are sick of paying for them.
Lets hope youre right.

I do believe we will see a casino there with a Ferry terminal in our lifetime. I also believe you will see other Casinos along the Billy F.

We shall see.
