Haven't done it yet, but I'd like to go to Eastern Ct or Southern NH. I know a lot of people headed or already gone to NC. Haven't heard any complaints yet. Also know some folks who went to Bucks Coutny PA. They love it.
I was also thinking about Columbia SC. Anybody familiar with that area?

I'm in Henrico which is now closer to that area since Rt 288 was built. Been here almost 20 years and love it. Though the heat of the last few days has been nasty.

My wife and I just put money down on a new construction house in Union County, North Carolina. Just south east of Charlotte. It is beautiful down there. We should be down there around January. We just need to sell our house here.

We want to go north, not south. I hate the heat and prefer it cold. However, getting that elusive 'out of state' job in an economically 'challenged' area where they 'don't pay very well' has been rough so far.
Many people I know opt for Florida or South to get the most bang for their buck, and I don't blame them (less going north is fine with me).
