Hello all,

I am planning on burying an above ground, half-way, to make a semi-inground pool. I've done a lot of research online, and it seems to be pretty straightforward and safe if done properly (I'm getting a used pool).

Would anyone have any ideas as to the best way for me to dispose of excavated dirt? I live in the Town of Babylon, maybe someone knows of someone locally that offers haul away services?

Is there some way to rent a dumpster for this purpose (not for trash but for dirt that I guess can be some way recycled or however the town takes care of dirt/grass clippings).

I'm not sure where landscapers bring their grass/dirt after jobs, but maybe I could find a landscaper to haul it away?

Its going to be a decent size hole, I calculated 648 cubic feet of dirt that I would have to get rid of, and I will probably rent a sod cutter to remove the grass.

Any info is appreciated, thanks!

You could always advertise in the Pennysaver or on Craigslist (possibly even Freecycle?) that you have clean fill free for the taking

That's what I was thinking - put it in the "free" section of craigslist - just don't let anyone back a truck into your yard
