Have had cable for a ton of years. While the service is OK the COST has gone out of site Triple play about $150.00 per month with the family package only.
Now inlaws live 1/2 mile away and get the same [ with more tv channels] for the $99. figure.
Any tips or tricks. Fios online buy me web site sucks
Fios is alot better but remember that 99.00 deal ony lasts for 2 years and then the price goes up. But it is worth it in the end. We have the movie package and the HD box. The HD is clearer than Cables. The sound quality is better and the internet is faster. When we had cable we had outages all the time, fuzzy TV screen and many times the screen would freeze or black out or the information bar would be blank. I have has fios 2 years and not one complaint or problem. Do not support the Dolan's.
Sounds like its time to play "Lets make a Deal".
The competition level between these two providers is such that by playing both ends against the middle, and a few concessions on your part,
you might find yourself at a great bargaining point. We had Cablevision for thirty years, switched to Fios because of both a rising cable bill and
the many touts of superior service, that came with every new Fios commercial. Our cable bill had grown to an average monthly bang of about
$173.00, I was newly unemployed and was looking to streamline my monthly nut. Fios gave me their $99.00 package and the promise to maintain
that rate for six months, they showed me the savings over Cablevision.
We stayed with them a year, before Cablevision sent an account associate to me, under their "your ex wants you back" campaign, they were
hungry for my business. They made me an offer that I couldn't refuse and I canceled Fios, signed-on with Cable and have no regrets for the deal
that I'd made. Remember, it's a competitive world out there, everyone in the game has a responsibility to get the most for their money. Although
signing on with either isn't quite like buying a car, you still have the right to negotiate the best terms possible. This is a day when because there
is a column "A" and a column "B" on this menu, you can cherry-pick your needs and tailor your outlay. As to performance of the product? It's kind
of like choosing between Pepsi and Coke.
You couldn't pay me to switch back to cable. A rep came to our house to try and get our business back and my husband said you guys suck get off my porch, so he left. But to each his own in this situation. Do what you want but IMO Fios is better.
new FIOS customer now I was able to do the $69.99/mo. offer which is the triple play. I think as long as Cablevision is a competitor, they will do it for you. Then eventually cablevision will lower their prices to get you back. It's a fun game. You win in the end, year after year.
BTW, FIOS is better for sure... have gone back and forth a lot between 2 homes + parents'.
well if you don't plan on terminating then you don't need to worry about the fees. Everyone nickle and dimes every little thing. I don't care what fee they charge cable can kiss my ass.
There have been no termination fees for at least 2 or 3 years...
oh wow!! that makes the company a whole better!!! dirtbags....
by the way, its been less than 12 months since they got rid of the termination fees, not 3 years.
