But perhaps we should thank them for self-selecting as pretentious, materialistic jackanapes. Whenever people use money as a marker by which to judge others, they only make themselves look childish and stupid.

Asking who has more money is certainly in poor taste, but I find that those who react to these things by calling people names tend to be people who don't have money and can't hold down a job. Either way, the name calling is just as classless IMO
