BIKE is in Hicksville LIRR
Hello,
I am thinking left a bike in the Hicksville LIRR station bike racker and then going to work in the City, Is it safe?

I would not reccomend keeping a bike there. The area around the Hicksville LIRR has alot of day laborers and they love to steal bikes.

Your obsessed with Day Laborers.....did you ever stop to think that some of the local crime problem is created by teens who have nothing better to do....?

This was two weeks ago. It doesn't matter who is doing it, the fact is that the Hicksville LIRR has always had some sketchiness around it -- even back when I worked in the area 25 years ago.
Regarding the lock: most often thieves cut the cables and leave the lock alone. If the OP really wants to rely on the bicycle to the train, s/he would be best off using a 'beater' bike.
