You need a certain size property in GC to put in a pool - a size which about 90% of the housing stock does not carry. Also, your taxes after putting in a pool will probably be about $30K a year....if you are able to put one in.
If you want a pool, do yourself a favor and look in another town.
We are looking to move into Garden City and I thought i read on these forums that the homes are not allowed to have pools ?? seriously ??
perhaps its only certain areas of garden city - if so would anyone know of the sections that do allow pools ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
As beautiful as Garden City is and as large as some of the houses are, the properties are not large. My understanding is that you have to have a certain amount of property to build a pool and many of the back yards do not meet the size requirements.
Thanks for all the info- a bit discouraging on the property size. Having 3 kids all under 5 I would like a decent yard size for them to run around in but not if it comes with $30K+ a year cost.
Love the idea of the community pool. I'm falling more in love with Garden City. As we are moving from Australia access to Ocean beaches will be a necessity - the beaches look to be very accessible From GC not knowing the area which beaches are the best to go to with children ?
