Default Hicksville is gone?

I was there yesterday. It's still there.

It has, though, morphed into an ugly, second rate imitation of Queens, without the subway.

The large office building there, where Chase used to be? They've got one major tenant left, AIG insurance. I'll bet that place is 75% vacant.

Perhaps, a little less focus on...BS, and a lot more on getting some businesses in there?

Sorry...never mind...no secret what I think...

I don't know what you are talking about. I have lived in Hicksville for 7 years and find it to be a typical suburban town. It is quiet, clean and realtively crime free. We are withing a few minutes drive of any convenience one needs. Are you making your statement because of one partially empty buildig? I have no idea who is even in the building other than the sign ourside of it.

I lived in Queens for 25 years before moving to Hicksville and if you think the two look the same I would like to know what you are smoking.

By the way where do you live.

If you go down near the train station at night, you might see what I mean. My girlfriend has had some nasty encounters with dirtbags down there when she is by herself. Now, I go with her.

I'm from Queens. It wasn't my decision to leave there, I'd love to return. There, or the Bronx. There might be crime, but being bored to death is unlikely. If I had children, perhaps I'd feel differently.

By the way, that is a very large office building, right near all kinds of public transit...the fact that it is so underused should tell people something. Perhaps, when businesses see what it takes to get their ticket punched by the zoning board, the Town of Oyster Bay, the County of Nassau, and the State of New York, they'd rather relocate to Charlotte, NC. Or, Shanghai, for that matter.

Default not really....

Theres a hell of alot more crime in Jamaica and Bronx than hicksville. When was the last time you heard of multiple people getting shot in hicksville? You can't even put the crime in the same category. Hell, hempstead and roosvelt are safer than Jamaica or most parts of the bronx.

Hicksville is one of the ****tier towns on LI, but its waaaay better than jamaica or the bx
