I believe you are geographically correct. I probably should have worded my sentence a bit more accurately. What I really mean is that the Suffolk side of 11735 is more commercial and therefore I believe has less residents than the Nassau side. IMO, this would make information from Nassau more reflective of "quality of life" issues than that of Suffolk.

If you are considering Farmingdale... the best part is the area "West of Main Street, South of Hempsted Tpke, East Of Rte-135 and North of Southern State" In this area to find a house < 350K is extremely difficult .. School District is not that bad as compared to the neighboring towns.

That would be the southeast part of the Hamlet of Plainedge and most of the Hamlet of South Farmingdale, right?

Thanks for the info Liltown. We are in contract now and are happy with our choice and the HHH school district. This will be our second home but not our final destination. We would like to end up in melville or dix hills north of the LIE so our kids will be in the same schools.

How is Farmingdale high school? Suitable for kids that are looking to get into Ivy League schools?
