Good question. I would suspect that there wouldn't be points lodged against your license, but there will be DMV record of the conviction (should you decide to plead guility.) Have no idea what fines could be imposed, if any. The fact is that rarely, if ever, do police write bicycle tickets. It's more trouble than it's worth. But a useful tool if you have a "problem" individual to deal with.

you are correct. I was poking fun at the other poster who implied that one can "drive a moped" when it is impossible to do so. I dont blame the poster for being ignorant, just unaware.

You should see these day laborers racing bikes down the sidewalks here in Westbury. I've nearly gotten hit several times! They also dont use any reflectors so they are difficult to see at night as they dart in and out of traffic onto the sidewalk. Many of the bikes arent even full size adult bikes but kids bikes they stole.
