I love Eddies, Too!! I used to live in Glendale, and we would always go to Eddies before the movies that's across the street.
I lived on the corner of 88th street and Union Turnpike in Glendale. I moved out of there when I was 7 years old to come to LI. The neighborhood is still nice. Do you remember glendale bake shop???
I sure do. We lived at 81-46 Woodhaven Blvd. (right by the Interboro overpass) from 1981 - 1987 right after we were married. Some of the best years of my life.
There is also a gem of a bakery nearby in ridge wood, I think it is called rubys or rudys, my wife and I used to stop in there quite a bit, many tears ago.

Sweet post. Your wife should see it.
I grew up in that area too. I bet you saw lots of movies at the Drake! If I'm remembering correctly, movies were $1 (well at one point anyway).
I lived there from 1973-1978 and before that Rego park. I was 2 when I moved to glendale. The neighborhood still is nice and so are parts of ridgewood where my husbands aunt lived. I believe the area still is very German.
I do remember the $1 movies at the Drake. I still have relatives who live in Middle Village and get in there from time to time. Yes Glendale does still seem nice to me. Sometimes I wish that we still lived there.
I have relatives in Middle Village as well. We don't see them though. Even Forest Hills remained nice. Did anyone on here go to Forest Hills Highschool? my dad graduated from there in 1965.
