Is re-zoning an issues in this areas? Is it possible area get re-zoned and homes close to Deer Park get re-zoned to those school districts?

That's very interesting - I've driven past those blocks many times and just always assumed they weren't in Dix Hills - the street signs change from the Huntington signs to the Babylon signs - I didn't realize that any homes with a Dix Hills mailing address were in the town of babylon. Does that impact sales price at all?

While there are never guarantees, I seriously doubt it. This area is surrounded by HHH SD streets, including in the "official" Deer Park hamlet, part of which is in the HHH SD. They'd have to do some major bulk re-zoning and I can't see a benefit for that.

Under current law, that would require a positive vote by each of the two school districts and then a vote by the legislature. Highly unlikely.

I have to say how impressed I am with the HHH schools. The lengths they go to in keeping parents involved is extraordinary - everything is on-line in a parent portal where you can see all of your child's stats in each class, including homework, tests, quizzes, and a daily average grade they have so far each quarter. The extracurricular activities and sports programs are terrific as well - everything to choose from. This is one of the reasons I selected HHH over CSH - couldn't get a little league program in CSH. You will be very happy with your decision - the neighborhood is beautiful, it is close to the highways, and the schools are outstanding from both an educational and extracurricular activity perspective.

Find school district boundaries and school information by home address.

type in half hollow hills and will overlay on Google Map. Zoomable.
