My guess is that this is just to make it easier to prosecute the reckless and irresponsible. I mean, we all know that a good parent would report a kid missing within that time frame, but from a legal standpoint, you can't prosecute based on "what we all know."
Sorry but these types of laws are just so Long Island Do they have to legislate everything here that is just common sense?
Also, I saw that a law "requiring you to use reuseable bags" is being proposed. Excuse me but I'll choose to virtuous if I want to, don't force me to do it!
Proposed laws like this are why people upstate can't stand Long Island!
