Wow! they do all that for $500 to $1000 per day (shift), plus pension, free healthcare for life and other lucrative benefits?

Sounds like their employers have lots of money to burn and/or are complete idiots.

Well, based on your [apparent] thought pattern, having watched "Apollo 13" I guess I can fly to the moon then. I mean, it looks easy, right?

The reality of the situation.

Crime on LI vs. NYC.

The reality of the situation.

The only reason NCPD and SCPD get so much more than NYPD is because they have stronger UNIONS. There is no other reason based on the actual work done.

Stronger unions or weak politicians...giving our money away for minimal work.

You could even make a case it's Embezzlement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
More often than not, embezzlement is performed in a manner that is premeditated, systematic and/or methodical, with the explicit intent to conceal the activities from other individuals, usually because it is being done without their knowledge or consent. Often it involves the trusted person embezzling only a small proportion or fraction of the funds received, in an attempt to minimize the risk of detection. If successful, embezzlements can continue for years (or even decades) without detection. It is often only when the funds are needed, or called upon for use, that the victims realize the funds or savings are missing and that they have been duped by the embezzler.

PD..please set a fine example of a retired law enforcement officer and obey the rules here. You can not insult people on here by calling them such things as "idiots". I realize you don't like to hear the truth about what people feel of the NCPD but there is no reason to get abusive. Thank you.

We all know there's one thing he's not going to find out.

That NCPD and SCPD deserve compensation levels above NYPD based on ACTUAL crime, ACTUAL skill (see NCPD crime lab for just one example), and ACTUAL level of police activity needed.

Even the barest bit of reseach will not lend itself to that conclusion.

It's a union/politician boondoggle to the detriment of all taxpayers on LI, not based in reality.
