Home improvement retailer Lowe’s, facing higher shipping costs and weakening sales, is ramping up a dramatic increase in online sales operations and shipping more goods directly to customers from stores and its distribution centers.
It would appear that Lowe's is shifting it's model and utilizing the internet more.
LI is saturated with HD and Lowe's -- how much more could they possibly hope to wring from this market?
Northport, Huntington and Commack consumers have to go to Stony Brook, Bay Shore or Farmingdale for Lowes. If they opened the Commack location, I think it would do well, especially since its on the LIE, convenient for contractors.

I agree but theres also 2 very close Home Depot's as well.

I never realized how far Huntington was from Farmingdale.
The folks in those areas also have a number of building supply and lumber yards nearby. Heaven forbid they drive to Blackman Plumbing in Huntington Station or Florence Building Material on Jericho Tpke in Huntington or Kleet Lumber in Huntington?

110 is often a disaster. Looking at 20-30 minutes to the Farmingdale location. Maybe more.

Maybe you get plumber's/discount prices, but for ordinary consumers, their stock is fairly pricey. Plus, if you don't have an appointment, they've been known to "give attitude"...
