After a few months of searching Long Island for a place that we can afford with decent school districts we have finally narrowed it down based on houses we found that we liked in Miller Place, Mt Sinai and Rocky Point. The one in Rocky Point is of course the least expensive witht he lowest taxes. I called the Rocky Point Middle school today to see if they offer the sports my son is interested in and the secretary said something to me that seemed strange.
She said "your moving to Pocky Point? Why would you want to move here? There's nothing here but Rocks. The only good thing is the school district. There's so many nicer places like Pt Jeff." I told her price was one deciding factor and she told me I should search out forclosures in better areas. This is a person who works at Rocky Point Middle school.
It got me thinking...are we making some hideous mistake by considering Rocky Point. We drove around the area and liked it. Is there something I'm missing here?
Wait a few... He'll be around to give you the "real" deal.
