You need to be right to support your decision to leave. Many people are like that when they leave somewhere. Look at all the former residents of LI who move down south and suddenly they are on CD posting that LI is a total pit. Glad you're happy elsewhere.

Yes. Actually the GA Mall has improved a lot and the security is very tight now.

I would agree that you're probably best to look at the south shore about mid-Island (Wantaugh, Seaford, Massapequa). The north shore is more expensive and you'll have to travel farther out to find something affordable with decent schools (like Northport or Commack).
