You know, the OP might actually be Orthodox Jewish. What you don't like about the area, minus the horrible noise from the planes at JFK, they might want so you should try to just provide objective information.

To answer the OP's second question, Central Ave. is the main drag in Lawrence/Cedarhurst and part of Woodmere. Then the commercial stores pick up on Broadway through Woodmere and Hewlett. There are stores on the side streets off of Central on Grove, Maple, and others, and stores near the Cedarhurst LIRR station. There are also some stores on West Broadway and all through Rockaway Turnpike. What kind of business do you plan to open? Some have been there for many years and others come and go.

One can be a similar ethnicity and still want an honest opinion.
