I now have Verizon here is my breakdown with CV

CV
TV cost for family package (no movie channels) 29.95 for 210 channels, 20.85 for 2 boxes and 1 dvr +10.85 for DVR cost +15.00 in taxes 76.65 +29.95 for phone +29.95 for internet +6.95 kids Animee channel totaling 143.50

DTV /Verizon
Tv includes showtime, Cinemax, HBO & Starz 57.99 + phone calls (same as CV) 19.99 + DSL internet 11.00+15.00 taxes = 103.99 . So I am saving 39.51 per month.

* Note my movie package is free for 3 months after the 3 months I will have to pay 22.50 (special promo I got for switching over) so my bill will then be 126.49 with taxes. I am still saving close to 17.00 per month and I have all the movie channels and more HD channels. I was first worried about having my DTV go out with the rain, snow or storms, but I am happy to report during the hurricane I had my service no problem. My neighbor also have DTV for the past 10 years approx and no problems what so ever.

I do live in a HOA community and our dish has to be attached to the chimney shoot so I was thinking maybe it is more secure up there.

The other day I had to turn in my CV internet modem it was the last piece of equipment I disconnect with CV, and the people that was in the store turning in equipment and cancelling service with CV was sad. It is no wonder they are still in business, in fact one customer was so angry they left the boxes on the counter and threw the remotes on the ground paid his final bill and stormed out .

I received my last bill from CV and had to dispute an 880.00 equipment charge + an additional 175.00 that was over billed to my account.

I cancel my dad account as well and had Verizon installed with him. I pay that bill and I am saving another 10.00 per month. CV has sent him 3 bills when even though my dad account was paid in advance with CV and they owe us 47.99 for services we never got. When I call CV for the refund I am told that we was billed in error they will correct it and send out the refund that was 3 months and counting still no refund.

The service CV offers speaks for them, people work hard and they are sick of CV I for one am happy to be gone.

I have my own cablevision account in my landlord's basement but i'm still sharing their internet connection...so i have to keep lying to the sales people i don't want internet..i get it for free with verizon because i work for them.
If i switch to verizon cable now that they are getting msg hd do you think they will force me to get internet service? I had to get my own account when cablevision came to fix the box and saw it was an apartment and i was sharing the cable.

i'm now paying 58 for family cable ..with dvr box it is now 80 a month. if i switch to verizon i can gget their promo rate ..and then. assuming i move to brookhaven next year ..i can get cable vision's promo rate again saying i'm a new customer. or maybe they'll win me back with a better deal. i don't really want verizon to rewire my landlord's house...(they are going to keep cablevision)

I think that Cablevision has really gotten so much better over the years. Thank you Verizon. For example. Their IOS app is fantastic. Their wifi is really good as well. These items are not on fios. They are also getting a multiroom dvr.

See, now...I realize I'm obviously doing this wrong, so bear with me. When I am using my cable TV service, I spend my time looking at....you know.....the images on the screen and not the boxes attached to them or the wires connecting them.

Who knew after all these years I was doing it wrong and was supposed to ignore the pretty pictures and stare at the the static box?

The best thing about IO Cable is the caller ID that shows on my TV screen 90% of the time I don't have to get up and answer the phone.
