Agreed. A lot of areas in Westchester and New Jersey are building real "Downtown" areas around their train stations, and it could definitely work in LI.
And in the case of Hicksville, the infrastructure is already there. All it needs are the right kind of occupants.
As someone who has lived in both NY and NC, I can tell you it's about 1,000 times easier to get a license and car registration in NY. When we went to get our licenses after moving to NC last year about half the people who came in the door of the DMV were turned away because they didn't have the required documentation. You can't register a car in NC without an NC license. You can't get a license till said car is insured.
What's not to say the NC plates we're seeing up here haven't been stolen down there? If someone is operating a car and obeying traffic laws, not parking illegally -- what are the chances the PD will actually run the plate?
Just the facts. No hate, there was a murder/assasination yesterday in N Bellmore and youre questioning my credibility?
I question quite a bit about someone who would mention this murder in response to my statement regarding Hempstead not being representative of all of Nassau.
Or do you really think even the worst part of Bellmore is comparable to Hempstead? Or that most of Nassau is comparable to Hempstead?
Because if you do, you're obviously misinformed. But since we all know that could NEVER happen, then it's clearly a case of your immaturity and inferiority complex manifesting itself into another one of your weak little jabs at Nassau.
Get some new material...it's been old for a while clamboy.

That North Bellmore, what a hellhole. Just crawling with those damn middle class Jews, Irish and Eyetalians.

Nope.
No murders in Malba, Massapequa or Miller Place my Norfin pal.
Just North Bellmore, but it's still early in the day though ; ). BTW I didn't know you were from there but since you evoked the exiled ghosts of C-D past I can only assume we've struck a nerve. You did see the news about the man shot to death on his property in North Bellmore yesterday? Didn't you?
As for the poster who brought up infrastructure at the rail. Sadly the Nasholes cried foul in so far as they were protecting their rich rural heritage. So we wound up funding a major rail/bus spur where it was least needed. Mineola.

Seldom right and wrong again, lol. Did the exiled ghost (how can you be exiled if you never left the silver coast?) of clamboy struggle this much?

since you seem hell bent on making a big deal about this murder, please enlighten us on what universal truths we should be gleaning here.
Because someone as astute as yourself would never use anecdotal incidents to support your own half-baked opinions....would you?

Do you criticize people for a living?? it's getting old reading you overanalyze and pick apart every single sentence of everybody's posts on this forum. Get a new hobby seriously.
