Special Ed Preschools for Autism (Commack, Hauppauge: preschool, kindergarten, building)

We need to find a special educaiton preschool for a high functioning child on the spectrum. Any recommendations? We have seen DDI and Building Blocks and will tour TOPS. Any information will be helpful.- thank you.

Any particular location work for you? I know a couple of people who've used Variety (I think that's the name) in Syosset. I have one friend whose kids were totally mainstreamed after kindergarten.

Look into NSSA (Nassau Suffolk Services for Autism), the Martin C. Barell School, on Hauppauge Rd in Commack. They only have a limited number of students (different ages), but they are awesome! There's usually a waiting list, but if your child fits the criteria they're looking for, you can't ask for a better environment.
