I don't have anything official, but the DSLReports.com forum showed this:

Availability - Verizon FIOS TV | DSLReports Forums

I suspect that the city needs to negotiate an agreement with Verizon to permit TV service but the local cable company will object and find many reasons not to allow TV service

But maybe it's your area. I'm sure geography factors into this. What part of massapequa are you in (generally...not a street address or anything)?

So....why another new name, dude? It never helps your cause that you don't stick to your guns and switch names so as to appear to be multiple people with a similar viewpoint. I mean, we all know you had problems with having to buy the cable boxes instead of renting them because your wife had bad credit. So, own up that you have a biased agenda when it comes to this.

Instead of tearing down Verizons credibility, try building up your own.

Not true. You CAN opt for additional promotions that require you to take a 1 year or 2 year plan, but you're not FORCED to.

Just like Cablevision.

But I'm sure the promotions for 1 or 2 year plans have much better prices than the "non contract" plans so what does Verizon think most people will choose?

You say Cablevision has contracts? I don't think they have any contracts, "optional plans" or not.

Their Triple Plays are based on keeping the service for a year, aren't they? That's a contract.

From the description of the Ultimate Triple Play:

"Must maintain all 3 services at required levels for promotional pricing." That's an agreement you're making.

It's not a bad thing for either company to do. It cuts down on the big girls blouses that switch comapnies every time the guy on the other side of the street had a deal 5 dollars cheaper.
