This came up a while back.
; )

I just figured while tha battle for William Floyd Pkwy was raging that a battle for the 135 would be appropriate too.

Granted Oyster Bay is a bit far from the expressway for my tastes and has some crappy smaller homes at the bottom, I'm just curious what the public perception of both is like.

Seems like a fair fight. Let's keep the schools out of it and just focus on the general aesthetic.

Fair enough?

I can play this one. Been to both.

Massapequa.

Reasons:

Commuting to the city is much better/faster from Massapequa than OB.

OB has an illegal alien problem in their less snooty areas. It is apparently growing and getting worse, as the McDonald's on the main drag coming into town has the menu and in-restaurant literature/advertising in spanish. The illegal aliens have even had the nerve to picket in front of the town hall over there because they got mad when they were no longer allowed to stand in the streets blocking traffic and soliciting for tax-free day labor work. NO thanks! I wouldn't pay all those taxes to live there ... especially since I cannot afford the snooty areas where the illegal aliens only appear to act as servants to the rich and scurry away at sundown. Give me Massapequa any day!

Massapequa Park is the Center of the Universe.

A great Value

Wonderful Downtown

Great Schools

No bad areas

That is all that needs to be discussed.

Oyster Bay. Less congested, small town feel. The problem with the illegals is confined to a small area and was blown out of proportion. The picketing regarding the town ordinance prohibiting day laborers from standing in the street stemmed from an incident on the Locust Valley/Glen cove border, not in the Hamlet of Oyster Bay itself. Locust valley and Massapequa are both within the Town of Oyster bay. (a little Walterish, I know.)
