All of you Veterans out there , accept my heartfelt appreciation to all of you....thank you for your sacrifices. People forget all to easy about all of good that we have. And alot of our basic freedoms were paid for by our armed forces. So again thank you , god bless.............

Well that is a very nice comment.
Little interesting aside... my girlfriend's son is in the Army. One day he was crossing the Tappen Zee with his car with his 10th Mountain Division decals. Someone passed in front of him before the toll plaza. He gets to the toll collector with his money out and the collector says..."the guy in front of you paid your toll and asked me to thank you for your service"..now that was a nice gesture.

I have to agree let's thank our vets. Someone paying your girlfriend's sons toll was great. He deserves it. I wish there were more people like that.

you know when you think about it, that is a nice gesture! Because what says "thank you for risking your limbs and life for little pay and reward" like 5 bucks?

A big heartfelt thanks from me as well!
I believe there was more appreciation in the days of the draft, when most had to "serve" vs. now, when it's voluntary.

This is a great time to tie into the Wreaths Across America program to honor the vets that are in our national cemeteries. You can donate a wreath to be placed at any national cemetery or you can designate on LI either LI National at Pinelawn or Calverton. The cost is $15 per wreath. There is no pressure put on you to donate, they will not solicit funds from you at all. If you wish, as I do, you can actually help place the wreaths in a designated area of both cemeteries on December 10th of this year. I can tell you it is a remarkable experience to participate in, cold but rewarding. And what have you done lately for vets to show your appreciation?
