In terms of just pure steak(ambiance aside) Cliffs Elbow Room is my pick for #1.

Absolute artistry.

Cliff's Elbow Room and Elbow Too Restaurants - Best Steaks and Seafood

#2) Peter Luger (Still the king of N Blvd)
#3) Jimmy Hays (Surprising gem of a porterhouse in Island Park)

Talk, disagree, discuss.

Were blessed with some damn good Steakhouses on LI and I think were more than just great Pizza and Bagels.

Crooks

Thanks for another steak thread. Can we start one about the best nail salon or the best bank?

I have never tried Cliff's. Are both locations equally good or is one better?

I have been to Luger and Hays and agree they are both excellent.

Another one I like is Ruth's Criss in Garden City.

Where is the great pizza and bagels ? Best pizza is on neptune ave bklyn, then there are 3 other pizza places there that are good before i can think of any on l.i.
Bagles aren't much further over by the VNB. . .and then another on 69th st, and another in queens. . .

I haven't had pizza on li or a bagel yet to come close to those that are good and in nyc.

I think that all has to do with the water too
