Jan 2, 2010, 7:30am on the Staten Island Expy.
75 in a 50.
Hard to believe for the SIE, but we were one of three cars on the road (sunday)
The cop says to me; "Sir I know that 50 is too slow, but 75 is a bit too fast"

I plead not guilty, and then postponed the trial, really just to delay paying it. When I went to pay it I was told the ticket was closed/ dismissed. I think the cop retired.

I was pulled over this summer the day I came home from driving cross country. I rolled through a stop sign a few blocks from my house. Apologized, explained I was tired and almost home, cop had taken the same trip and the dead bugs all over the car were all the proof she needed. No ticket, just reminded to come to a full stop.

I can't remember the last time...But does anyone notice the surge in speed traps and people being pulled over lately?

I actually got pulled over by a trooper coming back from the Hamptons sat night.

He let me go with a warning for speeding since I had a clean license.
Theyre looking for drunks.

Good.

Crooks.

About 15 years ago I got stopped by a Malverne cop who claims I ran 2 stop signs. If you have ever drove through that town and it's side streets there is a stop sign on almost every corner. I stopped but it was not a complete stop, it was more like a tap on the breaks kind of stop. In all honesty I did not know there were 2 stop signs within 10 ft of one another so he only gave me a ticket for the one. It was at night and the street was dark. when I first got my license I got a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt. paid both tickets. My dad was pissed. Especially since I did not tell him about the stop sign ticket and since he was an insurance broker and insured all our cars he found out somehow and was mad as hell when the insurance went up.

In my honest opinion..... 90% of the people do not stop completely at stop signs.

Add on Long Island after the word people and I agree 100%.

When I come back and visit... I have to revert back to rolling through the stop signs or people lay on the horn

I think it was in 1975 when I was stopped in my little orange beetle for speeding on Yaphank Road.
