I have an extension on my main level and underneath that room of the house, there is a crawl space. Every summer we get crickets (not sure what type) and we are constantly killing them. Personally, they freak me out. I also hear them chirping or wahtever it is they do at all times of day when they are in my house. It drives me absolutely nuts. This year I finally gave in and got an exterminator. I have to say it worked very well b/c I have yet to see them in that room or hopping into another room in my house. However, I did exterminate in August some time. Next year I plan on doing a preventative plan starting in the spring. The money was well worth it to spend bc even my cats couldn't keep up with killing them. It was like for every one they killed I got 2 more.

Now for some reason since I changed my gutters I seem to have an ant problem. I was hoping the cold weather would kill them but I may have to exterminate for that now. I tend to see those in my bathroom and my 4 month old sons room. It's really gross!

If I wer eyou, I'd get an exterminator. Good luck.

Exterminators can be expensive for example Arrow exterminating charges $450.00 for most any exterminating problem and I think that's why alot of people don't use exterminators, so they just live with the bugs and or crickets.IMO I don't care what it costs if it means getting rid of them, to me crickets are just disgusting.

I had an ant problem last year. They were coming in from the seam of the saddle & frame of my front door. They nested in there. It's a really easy inexpensive fix. Put baby powder wherever you see them coming in, and if you find a nest, put some around it. Leave it there for awhile. They absolutely hate it and avoid it like the plague. By putting it around their point of entry, no more will come in. By putting it around their nest, they can't get out, and none can go back in with food. You wipe out the colony. Cheap, and easy.
