Just had an electrical inspection for my a/c. I need the following changed: the breaker to a 30 from a 40 and the disconnect box is rusted and he didn't want to force it. It needs to be checked and possibly changed.

what am I looking at for a new breaker and a disconnect, if necessary, installed.? Must be a Nassau county licensed electrician. Thanks.

The breaker is very easier as long as you're going from a 40 to a 30. 30 to 40 would mean running a new line to handle the extra load.

You're probably looking at the charge for a service call plus the breaker (guess 150 + 30) and IF the disconnect needs changing approximately 150 for that.
