Things could get better for Upper Port soon. This was the second time they met to discuss development plans this month.

Mayor talks upper Port revitalization at civic

Village, residents discuss future of upper Port

I also found this, is this what they have in mind? Stations Crossing?

Id love to see PJ rebound but I suspect its too far gone and the fix is already in at Town Hall.

The hard reality remains that the LIPA funds are gone to fund the Schools and the Village, so taxes are about to skyrocket after years of being kept artificially low(and properties artificially high).PJ is prime for Sec 8 exploitation.Factor in the Superfund site thats running downstream to Rocketship park and the Drifters and it looks more and more like her best years are behind her.

Patchogue is becoming the new Port Jeff.

I hope Im wrong, I miss her.

The third link was interesting. It looks like the board recognizes that upper PJ has become a dump. The proposals will push some of the economically less desirable element out and woo others through some age restrictive properties -- bringing in taxes to the school district while not adding to the school population.

Making the LIRR area desirable to Mather, St Chas, UHSB and SBU employees is a smart move to help stabilize the area.

Good luck!

I believe that the garbage from the Uptown Port Jeff/some PJS area will move from there to the areas closest to it. Possibly the area of PJ just north of it (Overton rd area) and definitely PJStation and Terryville which is has been affected for a while.

Maybe?

As long as PJV continues to exploit Comsewogue SD in the upper part of the Village with its trash, this is going to continue to go sideways politically.

I dont see anything shy of merging the two SDs as working. Theres a loaded gun pointed at the heads of PJSD by virtue of LIPAs economic armageddon. This is a poopshow of mammoth proportions thats got "slumlord friendly" written all over it.

I really hope I'm wrong, but if nothing changes upper Port Jeff Village is on the fast track to being the next Huntington Station.

PS
Terryvilles not the problem
