Thumbs up looking for Syosset NY history

Does anyone have newspaper clippings, pics, articles, brochures, post cards, family stories, etc. about Syosset from 1920-1940? Especially interested in anything related to travel, sports and recreation. Thank you

I could quite litterally go on about Syossets extensive history forever, but if there's something you would like to know about our history just go to Syosset Scrapbook.com and surf till your hearts content. This site was put together by 2 very wonderful people with the people of Syosset adding stories and photos from over 100 years! Enjoy!!!

Try the bookstore, Book Revue, in Huntington. They had a great selection of books about the history of many LI towns (including Syosset I believe).

Default Syosset History

My name is Tom Montalbano and I am the author of "Syosset: Images of America" from the Arcadia Publishing series. The book is essentially a history of Syosset from the 1650s to the 1950s.

If you're still looking for Syosset info, feel free to contact me directly at tommontalbano@optonline.net .

You might also want to steal, borrow, or browse a copy of the book at a store or library near you.

Also look for a SECOND book in the Arcadia series called "Syosset: People & Places" by John Delin, webmaster of Syosset Scrapbook, which another member mentioned. It should be out in August of 2008.
