No, it's a device you put on your wading shoes to give you traction/added footing when you're fishing in a river. Sort of like cleats. My corkers have saved me from sliding along in the current when the river is running at a good clip.
There's an actual brand named Korkers which also makes high traction shoes for hiking, fishing, roofing, etc.

Seriously, I gave up with that one too - when crooks turned it into RP being eden again. Maybe hes mad Patchogue might take the place of the original true gem of the Island - Rocky Point.
