Can anyone tell me where the best street parking is near the New Hyde Park LIRR station? My husband and I are not NHP residents anymore and would like to take the train in to Penn Station this Saturday morning and would like to not have to walk too far to and from the station (we'll be returning on a late train). All suggestions welcome. Thanks!

I think on the weekend you shouldn't have a problem, as the NHP lot never really fills up on the weekends and I do not really think anybody checks either. You should be ok...

When my friend from Huntington used to come visit me, he used to park in the numbered, reserved spots at the Huntington LIRR station right near the ticket house, and he never once got a ticket or was cited...

During the week is probably a different story

You can probably also park in the Merillon Ave lot on Saturday if you want to go to that station.

I wouldn't trust parking there without a permit even on weekends. I used to work there and came in one Saturday. Forgot to hang my tag from the rearview mirror and got a ticket.

Yep, do this. You don't need a permit for Merillon Avenue. It's first come, first served. It'll be close to empty on a Saturday (forget about it during the week though!).

don't bother N25 meets trains there from new hyde park road. Or for more service use N24 on jericho to mineola or N22 on hillside. N22 and 24 go express in queens however. Where are you exactly I cant make a recommendation if I don't know where you are.

How much would people pay per month to park within 1/4 mile of New Hyde Park train station?
